With a huge number of high-performance student athletes all under one roof, it is important to share knowledge of how best to keep players in their prime. Recovery and injury mitigation can be applicable to all sports across the collegiate system. Sharing processes, techniques, and best practices and between athletic departments can help elevate all sports under one roof.
A combination of high-performance sport and studying can make an athlete’s life complex, creating a difficulty for S&C staff, physiotherapists and coaches in getting high athlete compliance on recovery protocols. In addition to travel to and from games across hundreds of miles also throwing up more potential risks including but not limited to; DVT, swelling from lack of movement, joint and muscle aches and jetlag.
In randomized double blind repeated measures studies, KYMIRA® products increased tissue oxygen levels by 20% on average compared against a Hyperbaric chamber which only increases it by 10-15%. This increase was a building increase that both peaked and maintained after 70 minutes of wearing the KYMIRA® products – ensuring that muscles are primed and ready for competition, therefore reducing the risk of injury and allowing for higher-level of performance in game and recovery after sessions. Thus, making it ideal for games on the road. Which means it not only helps mitigate the effects of jet leg, it also allows student athletes can spend more time away from the treatment table without constant check-ups from staff that they are following the more conventional recovery methods. As we know from our own research Infrared technology activates and accelerates ADP to ATP, boosting recovery in terms of direct injury as well as enhancing regular recovery protocols; with studies showing the same infrared light spectrum as used in KYMIRA®, increases cellular healing by 140-210%, rapidly supporting the repair of exertion microtears (DOMS).
Simply put, it’s as easy as getting dressed in the morning!
